He’s still at it!!
And my house still looks like this…
Joel has been working so hard! I’ve never known someone with such a work ethic. (Or maybe it’s the fear of his wife having a nervous breakdown…not sure which.)
There have been many, many late nights and ALL-nighters.
We had NO IDEA how messed up our bathroom was!! But it won’t be after Joel’s done with it!!
So, after replacing lots of water damaged beams and floorboards, a few more holes in the walls of our bedroom…
…we are finally seeing progress!!
Don’t you like our color choices? Who knew bathroom dry wall came in purple? Not I!
I’m so grateful for dry wall!!! It was freeeezing cold in the house one evening and I just could not figure out where the draft was coming from. I finally figured out that Joel had cut a hole in the ceiling.
Of course!
Dry wall, plastic barrier, Duroc, just a few of the beautiful elements of a well-built bathroom!
Alot of the progress is thanks to faithful friends! I don’t know where we’d be with all Joel’s marvelous helpers.
Thanks so much, guys!!!
And girls!!!
These cats cranked out some serious work.
And we are so grateful for their help!!
It’s been an arduous process, but it sure does help not to do it alone.
Just in case you think I just sit around and eat bon-bons…it’s actually Snickers I’ve resorted too.
Otherwise, I mostly run errands and hunt for tools that he can’t find, (though he had them in his hands about 2 minutes prior. I offer to help about every 10 minutes, but mostly I just live at Lowe’s'!)
And of course, when I come home to Joel having burned his arm hair off, mortaring his hands stiff and doing things like this…
Snow!! And flip-flops?!? It makes me think I shouldn’t spend so much time at Lowe’s! :)
Joel’s estimate is that the bathroom will be done by the weekend. Here’s hoping, because I am sure our friends and neighbors would like us to stop running up their water bills. They’ve all been so gracious to let us use their showers and potties. It’s actually been slightly fun to get to hang out with people a little more than often!
So, you should be extra-grateful for your indoor plumbing and we’ll keep you posted on how ours are coming along.
Thanks for reading!
xoxo
